Die hard ravens fan, but try to be considerate and not too much of a homer. When the ravens are outmatched or outclassed, I'll be quick to point it out.

The ravens QB situation is obviously, well ... bad. Steve McNair looked like he doubled his age right before the bengals game and was a turnover machine when he played the rest of the season. I really like steve mcnair a lot, but if he doesnt show DRASTIC improvement in his control, awareness (he was always getting stripped) and health, the ravens are going to have to cut him because he has a big salary.

Smith- I cant say Im sold on troy smith but I was getting there. I wish the season was three games longer so I could get a real look at him, or rather, so Ozzie could get a real look at him before the draft. I would love it if he turned out to be the guy. He has a rocket arm and is incredibly mobile. Everyone knows his knocks, his height and his accuracy. Too bad we didn't snag garrett, he really could have developped him. Maybe if we get Marty as coach, cam cameron can work with him.

Its been two weeks so far and Im starting to get frustrated. I know we shouldnt rush into picking a new coach, but it would be nice to know what direction the team is in for our own curiousities.

I saw Chris Mortenson's chat on ESPN today and he said that he expects Garrett to make his decision by the end of tonight or at the latest tomorrow (thursday 1/17/08) morning.

I am really pulling for garrett because that would most likely bring us Cam Cameron as OC and John Harbaugh as DC. Plus it would mean Rex would get a head coaching job somewhere (Atlanta) since the falcons are only considering Ryan and Garrett at the moment.

I really think that Garrett with Cameron might be able to mold a qb into something more than weve seen on the ravens to date. We do need a legitimate big, tall number one reciever. Mark Clayton and Derrick Mason are compliments to a number one, but not one themselves.

I really hope that this whole situation gets figured out in the next few days. Adam Schefter is reporting that the Falcons are offering Garrett more than the ravens, but Im sure Biscotti will step up to the plate.

I also don't understand why Rex Ryan isn't being considered anymore. Why not have a defensive minded coach? We've had an offensive one the last nine years and our defense was great so its not like theres a straight line correlation there. I say we should embrace what we have, an amazing defense, and hire Ryan. I would much rather see our defense continue to be in the top 5 year in year out than shift to an offensive minded team.

Nap
